WoW: Up to 10 million gold - top guilds want to buy your items!

Next Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the new raid, Mausoleum of the Firsts, will open

its doors on the live servers of WoW Patch 9.2, and the lead-up to the World First Race will begin. Because even though the actual race in mythic mode doesn't start until a week later, and only eight of the eleven bosses can even be fought in the first ID, the top guilds are in for an exhausting few days.

With lots of split runs, the guilds and top players are trying to prepare themselves optimally. In practice, this means setting up groups with different mainchars, some twinks and lots of helpers from their own community. With this, they kill the bosses to trade all the important equipment to the few chars that will ultimately participate in the race for the World First Kill.

This requires not only a lot of organization, but also tons of volunteers who not only play well enough, but also have such a high item level that they can pass on the relevant equipment. In order to find enough such players, the guilds unpack the big gold box.

WoW Patch 9.2.5: What changes in the upcoming update? - Overview

Patch 9.2.5 of WoW stands for cross-faction gameplay and season 4, but apart from that, there are many changes that we have to introduce to you!

Up to 10 million for one item!

The preparation for the race for the World First degenerates more and more into a material battle. Billions of gold change hands - not only in the course of these trading runs. Don't forget the huge amounts of gold that the top guilds spend on BoEs and character services (so that you can buy up the BoEs on other servers).

Already for NHC set items Liquid and Echo pay 2 million gold. Pieces even puts 3 million on the table. Heroic versions are sometimes rewarded with double that. Weapons and trinkets are also worth a lot to the top guilds. The Holy Grail, however, are the animal set pieces, which are available from the final bosses (only from the second ID). Liquid already pays a whopping 10 million gold for set shoulder and chest in normal mode

. In heroic, that should be even more, but apparently they don't trust themselves to knock down the final bosses in heroic mode quickly and easily with lots of community helpers.

Because as a reminder, by the time the final three bosses are available, the RWF is already running, as they appear at the same time as the mythic mode. Guilds probably don't want to waste any time there.

Echo has recently even been looking for helpers for the Sanctuary of the Dominion to equip one or two more twinks there. And even for that, they dug deep into the coffers.

The Race to World First is developing more and more from a competition of the best players to an unparalleled battle of material. A hobby kart race among friends has turned into a Formula 1 race, where not only the player counts, but also how much gold he has available for improvements.

You can like that or not. But it won't change anymore - unless Blizzard intervenes with really drastic changes. But even then, creative players will surely find a way to get an advantage, however small, through gold (or money). Do you like the way Race to World First is gradually evolving?
