As Community Manager Linxy announced in the official WoW forum, with patch 9.1.5 of Shadowlands it will be possible to sign up for island expeditions alone. This change will allow players to farm the dozens of transmog items, pets, and mounts without a group and exchange them for seafaring doubloons. Signing up with a group of up to three players will also be possible, however.
This should also be the significantly faster choice. This is because with Shadowlands, the developers have given many classes an AoE cap on their attacks. This means that area-of-effect attacks will only hit a small number of enemies, which was not the case in Battle for Azeroth - when island expeditions were introduced. Defeating many mobs at once, along with collecting treasure and Azerite deposits, is the fastest way to complete an island expedition.06:08
Here's how to sign up for island expeditions so far
Horde: Coordinates 56/61 in Zuldazar west of Dazar'alor HarborAlliance
: Coordinates 70/27 in Tiragarde Sound on the Great Ship
Nearby, you'll find the NPC selling you crates such as Salvage from Fördewald for Seafaring Doubles, which may contain Mounts if you're lucky. With each ID, other islands can be explored and reward chests can be captured.
It is still unclear at what level you can sign up for the island expeditions, whether you have to unlock the feature via the war campaign, how it looks like with the PvP mode and when patch 9.1.5 will be released at all. What is clear, however, is that Solo Islands should be available right at the launch of Patch 9.1.5.Support buffed - it will only take a minute. Thank you!
